Dancing & gestures

Oh my goodness, you guys! Just saw the cutest, most delightful thing and had to share! I’ve been meaning to update everyone on what I’ve been up to, and this just feels like the perfect way to start. Life has been, well, let’s just say *interesting*. You know how it is, ups and downs, the ebb and flow of everyday life. But I’m trying to focus on the happy things, the little moments that make me smile. And this definitely made me smile!

A Little Jig of Joy

A person happily dancing and gesturing.Isn’t this just precious? Look at those happy little movements! Reminds me of when I finally figured out how to properly make grandma’s dumplings after years of practice. The pure, unadulterated joy! It’s the kind of thing that just makes you want to get up and dance along, even if you have two left feet like yours truly. I always admire people who can express themselves so freely through movement. I get so self-conscious! Maybe I should take a dance class. Or at least practice in front of the mirror when no one is looking (which, let’s be honest, is most of the time!).

I’ve been trying to incorporate more movement into my daily routine, even if it’s just a brisk walk around the block. It makes such a difference in my mood! When I’m feeling stressed or overwhelmed, a little bit of physical activity always helps to clear my head and boost my energy. Plus, you know, gotta try and counteract all the delicious food I’ve been eating! I recently discovered this amazing new boba place down the street, and let’s just say my wallet (and my waistline) are starting to feel the consequences. But it’s so worth it! Their taro milk tea is absolutely divine, and they have these little mochi balls that are just heavenly.

Anyway, back to the dancing! It just struck me how universal movement is. No matter where you are in the world, or what language you speak, a smile and a little dance can convey so much. It’s a reminder that we’re all connected, sharing this human experience. Sometimes, it’s easy to get caught up in the negativity and the bad news, but these little moments of joy are so important to hold onto. They remind us that there’s still so much beauty and happiness in the world, if we just take the time to notice it. So go on, everyone, do a little dance, smile at a stranger, and spread a little bit of joy today! You never know, you might just brighten someone’s day. Now, if you excuse me, I’m going to go put on some music and try to learn a few new moves… wish me luck!
